Duck Creek Village, Utah
Duck Creek Village is a quaint mountain village located in the heart of the Dixie National Forest on Cedar Mountain, at an elevation of 8,500 feet, in a high Mountain Meadow, lined with aspen and ponderosa pines. The high elevation provides a cool relaxing summer escape from the desert heat. Duck Creek flows through the meadow, fed from Navajo Lake, via Cascade Falls, Duck Creek Pond and Mirror Lake, all very popular fishing lakes within five minutes of Duck Creek Village. Cedar Mountain’s cool summers are followed by spectacular fall colors, while winter snows provide deep powder for exceptional snowmobiling on the extensive groomed trail system.
In addition to snowmobiling, other outdoor recreation includes camping at Duck Creek Campground and Navajo Lake Campground, bicycling, climbing, hiking, horse riding, hunting, nature viewing, OTHER ACTIVITIES: ATV riding such as Dirt biking, Quad Riding, Side X Sides, outdoor learning, picnicking, scenic driving, water activities, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, sledding and down hill skiing at Brian Head Ski Resort, a short drive north of Duck Creek Village.
If you are looking for outstanding scenery, the Duck Creek area is centrally located, east of Cedar Breaks National Monument, southwest of Bryce National Canyon and northeast of Zion National Park. The north rim of the Grand Canyon is approximately 120 miles to the southeast, Lake Powell and Grand Staircase – Escalante National Monument is approximately 110 miles east.

We regularly count upwards of 50 deer coming into the meadow at dusk, and recently have been entertained by a family of foxes that hunts and plays in the meadow. You can almost always see a few Red Tail Hawks cruising over the meadow, swooping down occasionally to pull a fish out of the creek, or some tasty morsel from the grassy meadow. Watch for the extremely social marmots that sun themselves on the rocks below. When you decide you want to stretch your legs a bit, take a walk down into the meadow itself, and see where Duck Creek disappears into sink holes on the east edge of the meadow…not to be seen again for 13 miles…where it flows into the Sevier River… Check with Mike.
